The Consulate of Peru in the United States is a diplomatic mission that represents Peru internationally. The primary responsibility of the Consulate is to promote trade, investment and tourism between Peru and the U.S., support Peruvian citizens residing in the U.S., facilitate travel for American citizens coming to visit or conduct business in Peru.
The Consulate of Peru in the United States was established on October 20th, 1941, after WWII had ended and with the intention of providing assistance to Peruvian immigrants who were living overseas. The consulate has been stationed at its current location since 1983.
The current Consulate general is Ambassador Carlos Ramiro Gálvez Rodríguez who succeeded Ambassador Manuel Torreón Espinosa on September 9, 2017.

Visa requirements
The following are required to apply for a US Visa:
- A completed application form DS-160, which can be found at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/,
- A valid passport,
- Two (2) identical, recently taken photographs with white background,
- Proof of financial means to cover the costs associated with your stay in the United States (e.g., bank statement or letter from employer),
- Proof that you intend only to transit through the US
